Working for the Welsh Government, Burroughs have provided project management services to successfully obtain planning approval and obtain an EPS License for the construction of a new bulk supply point in Newport. The Welsh Government were required to deliver the enabling works (deemed user works under their connection offer).
Burroughs managed a multi-disciplinary team made up of international consultants, namely Arup and Hydrock to successfully navigate the planning processes with significant ecological constraints. Burroughs produced a procurement strategy to deliver the works under an NEC4 Option A contract utilising a framework to procure the works.
The scheme will unlock development potential within Newport for Semi-Conductor Technology and Data Centres. The overall value of the scheme is in the region of £30million supplying 60MVA to the business park and surrounding area.
