We are looking for an ambitious Apprentice Project Manager or Apprentice Cost Manager to join our growing Project and Cost Management team. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a structured career in consultancy while gaining hands-on experience across live infrastructure and building projects.

You will work alongside experienced Project Managers and Cost Managers, supporting delivery from project inception through to completion. You will gain exposure to procurement, contract administration, cost control, programme management and client liaison.

This role is ideal for someone starting their career who wants to combine academic learning with real-world experience in a professional consultancy environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Project Management Support

  • Assisting in preparing project programmes and tracking progress
  • Attending meetings and preparing clear meeting minutes
  • Supporting risk management and maintaining risk registers
  • Liaising with clients, contractors and design teams
  • Assisting with procurement and tender documentation
  • Supporting contract administration under NEC and JCT forms


Cost Management Support

  • Assisting with cost plans and budget estimates
  • Supporting tender analysis and contractor comparisons
  • Assisting with valuation of works and payment applications
  • Monitoring project costs and reporting on financial performance
  • Supporting change control and variation assessments


General Responsibilities

  • Maintaining accurate project records and documentation
  • Supporting health and safety compliance in line with CDM regulations
  • Learning Burroughs’ systems and processes
  • Contributing positively to team collaboration and continuous improvement

 

What We Are Looking For

  • A strong interest in construction, infrastructure, engineering or the built environment
  • A desire to pursue professional qualification such as RICS or APM
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong GCSEs
