Burroughs Achieves Planet Mark Accreditation with 22% Reduction in Emissions
09/05/2025
Burroughs is delighted to announce that we have once again achieved Planet Mark Certified – Business status, underscoring our continued commitment to sustainability and carbon reduction.
As part of our certification, we reported a 22.0% reduction in absolute Scope 1 and 2 market-based emissions compared to the previous reporting period – a significant achievement reflecting the hard work and focus of our team across all areas of our business.
Our certification covers emissions from:
- Scope 1: Stationary Fuels
- Scope 2: Electricity
- Scope 3 (Selected Categories):
– Fuel- and Energy-related Activities
– Waste
– Business Travel
Over the reporting period (1 January – 31 December 2024), Burroughs recorded:
- 35.2 tCO₂e (market-based) total measured emissions
- 33.2 tCO₂e (location-based) total measured emissions
- 0.7 tCO₂e measured emissions per employee

This achievement marks the fourth consecutive year Burroughs has partnered with Planet Mark, and this year we are proud to have committed to expanding our measurement boundary to encompass a fuller carbon footprint in future reporting periods.
The Planet Mark methodology is aligned with the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, and all data submitted has been reviewed and supported with verified evidence.
Achieving and maintaining this certification means we must demonstrate continuous improvement under the Planet Mark Net Zero Certification Scheme Rules. It’s a challenge we embrace fully as we continue our journey towards becoming a truly sustainable business.
This latest milestone is a testament to our long-term vision: to embed responsible practices into every aspect of our operations, reduce our environmental impact, and help shape a low-carbon future for our industry.
