As part of the Waste Management Strategy for the Isle of Man, the Plant provides a complete rendering process to treat all the animal waste material produced on the Isle of Man. Burroughs acted as Project Manager for the Department of Transport, responsible for a multi-disciplinary Design Team, covering all aspects of civil, structural, environmental and architectural design.

The new Plant complies fully with the latest European Directives and Health and Safety standards and is one of the most sustainable and energy efficient bespoke systems in Europe.

Burroughs also acted as Contract Administrator for the construction and installation of the £2.6M Process Plant and project managed the Process Engineering Contract and Commissioning process. The £6.2M facility was successfully completed on time, within Budget, and treats around 5,500 tonnes of animal waste per annum under normal operating conditions.
