As part of the National Productivity Investment Fund, Worcestershire County Council undertook a series of scheme to ease congestion, provide upgrades to important regional routes, and enable delivery of new housing.
Within Bromsgrove, this included improvements to walking and cycling routes and interface with highways Hannover Street, Market Street and Kidderminster Road to provide alternative active travel choices for local users.
They are part of a wider comprehensive network of walking and cycling routes across the town, including the Traffic Calming and Active Travel Routes that Burroughs are also designers for. These links between residential areas, employment sites, schools, the hospital, the town centre and the railway station encourage attractive alternative to car use for shorter distance trips, helping reduce congestion and improve air quality.
Burroughs were Designer for Alun Griffiths Contractors Ltd on the Design & Build schemes.
