Burroughs acted as Principal Designer for Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Limited on a design and build scheme to construct 2km of new highway to the west of Carmarthen town centre.

The scheme is instrumental in facilitating multiple housing developments and providing a direct transport link between northwest Carmarthen at College Road and the A40 at Traveller’s Rest. The Client, Carmarthenshire County Council, has championed the development in order to alleviate congestion problems in the locality, whilst providing direct access to St David’s Park, the University of Wales, Trinity, St David’s and in order to serve the proposed new S4C Headquarters.

The site is a strategic development within the Council’s Local Development Plan and is allocated for mixed use development, including 1,100 new homes, a primary school, employment space, a small retail centre, open space and affordable housing.
