Structural Engineer and Lead Consultant for the internal upgrade and structural modification works of an existing asset for retrospectic modernisation.

Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water (DCWW) required modern replacement mechanical and electrical equipment to be swapped out at Nantgaredig Raw Water Pumping Station.

Burroughs were commissioned to assess the existing structure, procure material tests and to analyse loading capacity of the structure to support new equipment. The works also involved the opening up of significant new penetrations and structural reinforcement to maintain building integrity. An extensive and detailed report was produced describing the permissible loadings and, where necessary, repair methods for any defects identified. Burroughs have undertaken a number of similar schemes working on behalf of DCWW.
