Pershore Northern Link Road

PROJECT SCOPE

Burroughs were appointed by Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd as Designer for a 420m long new highway infrastructure scheme to redirect the A4104 with a new road over rail bridge to relieve congestion on station road.

The scheme, located northeast of Pershore, included a 30m span bridge (designed by sub-consultants COWI UK Ltd) crossing the North Cotswold Railway Line with reinforced soil structures reaching 8.4m in height.

Notable constraints were the proximity of the site to adjacent business parks to the west and the Network Rail asset bisecting the site. This drove consideration of the scheme’s buildability throughout the design process.

In conjunction with other works in the area, the scheme supports the growth of Pershore as part of the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP).
