Burroughs were engaged on behalf of Southend Airport to review their existing perimeter taxiways with regard to condition and legacy life. The project comprised a detailed walk-over survey, procurement and management of detailed site investigation works and the development of a design solution to remediate the dilapidated pavements.

Significant project interests included the presence of previously stabilised sub-formation and the review of a concrete paving plant newly purchased by the client.

Burroughs led the appraisal process working collaboratively with geotechnical contractors and the clients operational division.
