Collaboratively working with ChandlerKBS for South West Water, Burroughs were the technical engineering consultant for the testing and contractual sign-off for numerous pressure and gravity water schemes throughout Cornwall and Devon.

Burroughs worked with South West Water and their contract administrators on a number of sewerage and potable water schemes throughout their operational region. Schemes have ranged from a large diameter water main serving a large new residential development within Plymstock Quarry to foul water sewer networks serving proposed developments in Newquay, Swanvale, Camborne and St Eval.

Burroughs have assisted with the technical support, testing and commissioning of the new assets acting as Supervisor under NEC3 construction contracts. Testing and commissioning has been undertaken in compliance with the Civil Engineering Specification for the Water Industry, supplemented with our own expert knowledge for unusual and bespoke scenarios.

One particular instance involved the replacement of a 3m diameter manhole biscuit that had evidence of unplanned stress or on-site mishandling. In this scenario Burroughs acted as an impartial expert helping the Client and Contract Managers make informed decisions.
